It's Raining Fish! Weird Weather That's Real
11294

Northern Territory, Australia is a desert. It is hot and dry.

One day, it began to rain. It rained fish! Fish fell on rooftops and roads. They fell on cars and on people. The closest lake was 200 miles away. Where did the fish come from?

Waterspouts are small tornadoes. They start over water. They can start over oceans or lakes. A waterspout can suck up all the water in a lake. It can suck up the fish, too.

The waterspout rises high into the sky. It takes the water and fish along with it.

Wind can blow the water far away from the lake.
The fish go along for the ride.

What goes up, must come down. At some time, the water must fall down. The fish must fall down, too. This is what happened in Australia. A waterspout took water and fish from a lake. The wind blew them hundreds of miles. Then the water fell along with the fish.
