Library Outing

Visit your local library with your child. Talk with the Librarian about how to find books in the library, how to apply for a libary card, and what books might be appropriate for your child.

Take your child the library. Ask the librarian about the library's collections and services, specifically story hours for very young children. Make sure you find out what age a child must be to participate. Ask the librarian for a tour of the library and find out how to use its system for finding books. If you do not already have a library card, apply for one. Most libraries have toys and puzzles that babies can play with while their parents talk to the librarian. Be sure to take a break during the visit and take time to enjoy books with your little one.
