Materials that you'll need: Road maps, a copy of your itinerary, highlighter or light-colored marker, pencil, and notepad

On your next car trip, pretend that your mother or father is the pilot, and you are the navigator. Before your next trip, you should talk to your parent about where you are heading. Then use a highlighter to trace your planned route on the map, circling the various destinations. The pencil and pad are for keeping track of mileage. You are also in charge of giving directions to your motheror father, watching for signs and markers along the way, and answering the impatient questions of younger brothers and sisters: Are we there yet? When are we going to be there?
